Are you in a band or you a solo artist?
Are you a solo performer or perhaps a whizz with a guitar? Well whatever your musical dreams perhaps Newport City Homes and Voice can go someway to make one of them come true.
On July 10th in John Frost Square, Newport a line-up of the greatest bands ever to come out of the city will be getting together to play a very-special one-off gig in honour of John Sicolo, owner of TJ's and pioneer of the Newport music scene.
Bands lined up to play so far include local legends Flyscreen, Novocaine and The Darling Buds with everyone's fave boys in track suits, GLC taking the top slot.
The gig will be an all-day event featuring 15 bands and solo artists. So f ar, we have 14 - and we're looking for one more. This is where you could come in!
If you're aged 18 or under and make music of any shape or form, you could find yourself supporting this incredible line-up on July 10th.
We have a slot at the TJ's in the Square gig up for grabs and much more besides.
This is how it'll work:
Send us a demo of you or your band. It doesn't have to be amazingly produced - it just needs to give us the gist of your what you do. If you don't have anything on CD we can accept tapes and even links to MySpace pages etc.
A panel of industry experts will listen to the demos and select the ten bands they'd like to see and hear more of.
If you're one of the ten acts selected you will be invited to a two-day Rock School at a Newport location. At this Rock School you'll face our industry experts who will watch you perform before giving master classes in things such as: musicianship, sound engineering, interview skills, look and style and much more. Everything you need to make it as a real rock star, in fact! You'll even get to take part in a real photo shoot with a professional photographer!
