On Golden Pond is the timeless and endearing love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. They are joined by their estranged daughter, her fiancé and his teenage son.
A deeply moving and tender exploration of the relationship between the elderly couple, their daughter and their new grandson follows. The classic film of On Golden Pond, which starred Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda, went on to win 3 Academy Awards. This touching tale now comes to Cardiff in a new production from Middle Ground Theatre Company, who brought Columbo: Prescription Murder to the New in 2010.
