Filmmakers Wanted!
It's getting harder and harder to get a job nowadays, so any pathway into a new career should be warmly welcomed, especially in the creative arts sector. That's why you should open your arms and embrace this fantastic opportunity being thrown your way.
The Hurtwood Prize for Young Filmmakers is a new award that has been established this year, but will hopefully be running annually. It provides anyone between the ages of 16 and 21 with the chance to shoot an official music video for one of four bands; The Maccabees, Spector, Lawson or Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (T.E.E.D.).
All you have to do is send in your homemade video, and a judging panel made up of industry experts will decide on the top ten. The finalists will then be invited to a two-day intensive film production course at Hurtwood House where there will be a series of challenges for you to take part in.
For your video, you should pick one of the four bands, preferably the one that inspires you the most.
Next, you need a camera. It doesn't need to be expensive or fancy; really, the camera on your mobile phone will be good enough. [Sub-Ed note: Most local editorial groups have video cameras, speak to your local editor if you want to borrow one - if you're unsure who that is, leave a comment below]
Film your video and throw it all together, then submit it through their YouTube channel.
You can find more helpful hints and suggestions on the YouTube channel about things such as filming, hair and make-up and editing, as well as downloading the terms and conditions (.pdf file) and I recommend watching the tutorials. They will help you. Any entry information can also be found there too.
The deadline for submitting your work is the 6th August, so get filming! Good luck and have fun.

This looks cool, i dunno If i can do it, mainly 'cause Im too young, Oh! I know this is slightly ilrelevant, but in august, theres the welsh young carers festival, and I'm wounding if the clic team would be there, I'm going, I would of wanted to make an article about it, but I just dunno if It's worth it, seeming its no where near time to worry about the event, thanks, and see you if you're coming!
