Monday 30th January

I was on my way to the Burning Red Studios and as I got outside I was a bit nervous...

I rang the intercom, they buzzed me into the building and were all really welcoming. I then met all of the team and they were busy working on upcoming websites. One of the team then introduced me to CLIConline and showed me around the whole website and all the cool stuff on it.  I then did some commenting on some of the articles, and it was really fun. I also learnt how to use the equipment in the office and I started drawing up a design.

Tuesday 31st January

The next day we all dove straight into work and I had to make an article to submit to theSprout. I was stuck for inspiration but then I went in my bag and I found my old Cardiff City ticket. It then came to me! Cardiff City vs. Crystal Palace! So I wrote a article about when I went to the game. I downloaded some pictures off the internet and it took me a while to upload stuff, and I also uploaded videos and then submitted it to TheSprout website!  It has now been set live here and am very pleased with it!

The team then introduced me to design software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign and they taught me how to use it properly with all the tools -  it was a real fun day.

Wednesday 1st February

I was having so much fun at my work placement and one of the staff gave me a task to do for the CLIConline websites. I illustrated some icons for the information section and that was really cool. I had to get pictures to fit the description of the icon, and I had to the drag the picture into Illustrator then go around the picture to make it stand out. I also searched some other stuff on the web such as logos for articles and for my desktop. And then that was the end of my day.

Thursday 2nd February

I collected current data from Powys Youth which will then be added to their new website which will be part of CLIConline soon. I put all the information into different documents to make it easier for Burning Red to upload the content.

It me a long while but I got it done eventually. Then one of the team said to me "do you know how to make coffee?" and I didn’t know how to make coffee, but they showed me how to make proper coffee - in a cafeteria as well! Next I'll be making proper coffee in a café!

Then a bit later in the day I met theSprout editor, she was really nice and seemed very lovely to talk to, and we talked about me making more articles on Cardiff City against Liverpool.

Friday 3rd February

Today I made a couple of cups of coffee for the team, in between some different designs, and it was cool using a proper coffee maker again, and they liked my brew! Then we all had a 'cheese and pate day' lunch - it was such a good laugh and they do it every Friday!

Then I moved on to finish off this article, and Gareth asked me if I would like to draw a picture to go with it. My picture is a Cardiff City logo which is related to my previous article about Cardiff going up to Wembley. So I redrew the logo, tweaked it and uploaded it to theSprout.

I have had so much fun during my work experience and it has been the best week ever!

I would also just like to say how great theSprout and other websites involved with CLIConline are. Well done to all the team who created the websites and all the great young people who submit articles.

I recommend you to tell everyone about these websites, as there is so much you can do on here.

Keep an eye out for my next article on Cardiff City.
