Self Belief
I like to draw. Mostly comics and cartoons, but I do like to draw portraits too.
I had an assessment the other week, and I had to do a presentation in front of my whole class and an inspector.
I thought that it went well. But my teacher didn't. She didn't like my art, and she didn't like my drawings. Nor did the inspector.
So, I stood up in front of a lot of people, and put all my art work in a slide show, which is excruciating for me to do because I lack confidence.
I had to talk for ten minutes and hand in a 3000-word essay just to get told that my work is nothing, and that I'm probably going to fail the course because I don't do abstract drawings and stuff that my three-year-old sister can draw.
So, to all that love drawing or anything to do with art, as much as people might put you through, or what people tell you about your work, ignore them.
It's your work, and is something that you've created. Don't let anyone bring you down. I've got another two years and I can't quit because I need this course. It's the equivalent of three A-levels and five GCSE's.
I hope I get there in the end, because I'm not working for three years to be told that I'm not going to pass, because I will. Please wish me luck because I really need it!

Are these pictures you've drawn? They look like photographs.

Your talent is incredible, don't you ever stop believing that.
If you haven't already, you should read this article about a girl who was made to feel so useless by her art teachers that she actually dropped Art... but is now a published illustrator! Just goes to show that you should never stop doing what you love, no matter who tries to put you down and tell you you can't.
