Any Other Day

Any Other Day are an unsigned band from Cardiff who play music in the alternative and rock genre as a female fronted band. They started in early 2007 following the break up of the successful band ‘State The Obvious’. Laura & Ed decided to form another band and create something new. Benji soon joined to take the place of the drummer. After finding a singer and switching once again, Abigail joined to complete the line up. All four members compiled lists of names and two names were left, failing to decided they asked a random kid in Cathays Community Centre and ‘Any Other Day’ was formed with the completed line up. Playing their first nerve-wracking and crowded first gig for ‘Ya Face’ clothing company’s fashion show, they then went on to start recording material for their EP which is yet to be completed in Reel Time Studios & have played gigs since, sharing the stage with bands such Crimson Skies, Here Lies The Enemy & You Snooze You Lose. This Autumn they will be completing the recording for the EP & playing gigs in Buffalo Bar with Edessa, Chris Hicks & Others, busking in and around Cardiff and bothering you as much as possible until you take notice.

Death Before Sunrise
Hundred Questions, Thousand Answers’ is the debut promo release from Cardiff based rock band Death Before Sunrise. The promo features two tracks, and with this release the band shows fantastic signs of promise. The band is currently signed to Casket Music and will later this year release its debut album; if this promo is anything to go by then Death Before Sunrise’s debut album should definitely have a lot to offer. Formed in 2008, Death Before Sunrise has already played a number of high profile shows, establishing a strong fan base throughout South Wales and beyond in the process. Listening to this promo you can hear a fantastic amount of energy coming through in the sound, and this is no doubt something that comes across on the live circuit also. Title track ‘Hundred Questions, Thousand Answers’ is by far the most powerful of the two tracks present here, second track ‘Will There Be A Moment’ is still a decent track to listen to though, and with this track the band shows excellent instrumental ability.

I am Hope

I AM HOPE are four passionate young musicians from South Wales dedicated to bringing their lyrically esoteric yet optimistic songs to the world. Influenced by and taking musical reference from the likes of Biffy Clyro, Kings Of Leon and Alexisonfire, I AM HOPE build their sound emphatically and methodically, as only they know how. Recorded and produced by the legendary Jeff Rose and Martin ‘Ginge’ Ford (Funeral For A Friend / Bullet For My Valentine), this debut EP perfectly exemplifies the band's ethos for making music: strong hooks and infectious melodies coupled with intense and engaging yet ultimately sanguine lyrics.

Inferno MC
Since a child in the orbit of life, thoughts I would write About haunts in the night which caused me to fight When I thought I was right about beliefs in my sight, who ever thought this kid would evolve it to mics I involve what I like combine it to writting, transition to a mic king - Thunder force of lightening Explore what what I'm reciting, death I'm inviting, like a viking, upgrade to snipping. Lighting my path of choice and it's my choice to have a voice express like Rolls Royce whilst making a lotta noise Get pumped like steroids, I don't lack the discipline, considering mimicin' these emcee who's fidgeting I'm an anti-christ, sadistic sacrifice, battle cry. Capitalised by the fact it lies beneath forsaken eyes. That's why its vaporised, stored in creative minds, cremate the vibe with the desire that burns inside...

Jay & Hype

Jay and Hype are the UK's brand new Hip Hop act. We first met when we both started comprehensive school and realised we shared many of the same interests; most importantly, we both developed a strong passion for hip-hop music. During the first year, we would regularly ‘freestyle rap’ together and occasionally record our results. At the time, we were not very critical of our music which is a skill that we have learnt during the time we have been together. Later on in out years of comprehensive, hip-hop was very much a big part of everything in our lives. We were regular participants in the school rap battles, which helped us to improve our lyricism greatly. A few months later, and together we decided to put pen to paper and form a rap group. They have recently recorded their first two songs at Reeltime Studios. 'Everybody in The Club' and 'We in The Building' were produced by Meurig Hailstone. They were finished on 06 September 2009..

Judge G
My real name is Ryan Colbeck. I started writing music three years ago but I've only just started putting material out. I have an 7-track EP currently available online. My rhyming style is more Eminem than Dizee Rascal and I pride myself on not sugar-coating my message. I feel that British rappers who don't come from a major city like London or places like Liverpool or Manchester don't get taken seriously. I definitely aim to change that.

Megabeam
What happens when four producers start a band? Megabeam. That’s what. Poptastic, electronic, uber-cheesey and, of course, rocking. Hailing from both Cardiff and Newport, this four-piece are already making a powerful impression on the local circuit, offering something quite different from the current scene...and unashamedly so! A prolific outfit, new songs are constantly in the making and gig offers are coming thick and fast. So come and jump on the Megawagon, before uncoolness becomes uncool.

Reaper in Sicily
Reaper in sicily are a five piece power-pop/punk band from the sorrounding areas of Aberdare and Mountain Ash. After comming on to the scene in 2009 Reaper in Sicily have already built up a massive fan base in their sorrounding areas with their energetic live performances and their catchy songs that will sure not leave your head very easily! Our aim is to have some fun and put some powerpop rock back out there! After emerging from 2009 with quick succession, Reaper in Sicily have established themselves as an independent, self described ‘power-pop’ group, becoming increasingly popular in the post industrial Merthyr regions, following an example of progressive bands and shedding some light on our existence. Best described as adrenaline pumped verses that take a situation and give it the middle finger. I have been first hand to witness their performance at Pontypridd Clwb y Bont and Reaper were the hook that kept me on my cracked heels front centre stage, that, and a band enthusiast who was constantly tugging at my arm and squealing in my ear. If the music isn’t for you then at best you can’t avoid laughing along with the excited crowd, roused by front man, Rhys Bernado’s radiant stage presence and the happy jig of a man who loves his music. Reaper supply a stable variety of talented musicians and a series of songs that are unable to shake off after they’ve crept inside your head.

The Undivided
The Undivided came together in November 2007 after singer Joe had returned home to Wales with the aim of putting together a band to bring new life to the songs he had written living in London for a year. They broke out of rehearsals after just a few weeks to play to a sold-out home crowd for a first gig that drove them to play to bigger and better venues. The first EP, Methods To Self Destruct, recorded in Shed Studio, South Wales secured the band many of their first gigs and got radio time through Bethan Elfyn on Radio 1. The EP featured 4 tracks from driving hard rock to bittersweet acoustic sounds that showed early promise of the band's dynamic range and willingness to break out of the local scene and create something different.
