No Min Age

Young people from Ferndale Community School attend E3 and are enrolled on a quad biking course every Monday from 3-6pm.

Supported by Allyn and Tracey, the Ferndale/Maerdy detached youth workers, they go with 12 young people to the Taff vale Quad centre. There, instructors teach the young people about maintenance of the bikes, health and safety, and other issues. This week, they learned how to check the tyre pressure of the bikes, stopping distances, length of the bikes, and safe riding distance and safety in general.

This course is interesting, for everyone who enjoys quadding, and especially for young people who already own or are thinking of owning quad bikes. Because the young people are under 14, the course is not OCN, but will be a part of the youth achievement award. The young people are enthusiastic, and many of them did not realise there was so much centered around quadding.
