Breakin’ Convention 2010, 22 – 23 October

If you’re into hip hop and urban arts then you’ll need to head down to Cardiff Bay the weekend of the 22 – 23 October. Wales Millennium Centre’s annual hip hop festival Breakin’ the Bay is back, and headlining the festival this year is Breakin’ Convention.

Now in its seventh sold-out year in London, Breakin’ Convention is an international festival of hip hop dance theatre; we can’t wait for them to get here. Some of the best hip hop artists on the planet, plus the best local dance crews, hit the Donald Gordon Theatre stage with force, with amazing performances that defy what we thought was physically possible, including work by Sebastien & Raphael, a B-Boy duo from France and Germany who use dance and projection to create clever visual trickery and haunting images. Hosted by hip hop dance theatre pioneer and Breakin’ Convention Artistic Director Jonzi D, the Centre is going to be full to the brim with events and activities which offers up a brilliant night out.

With Breakin’ the Bay providing a host of free pre-show and interval activities in the foyers, Breakin’ Convention is more than just a show – it’s a brilliant experience that will transform the entire look of the Centre.

If you want to know more than that you can contact Hannah: hannah.wynn.jones@wmc.org.uk. Or to book tickets call the Ticket Office 029 2063 6464 or visit our website.

The Breakin’ Convention 2010 UK Tour is supported by Dance Consortium.
