Have fun while doing something great While our favourite yellow flower often takes centre-stage in this appeal, it’s our volunteers and supporters that make everything possible. "There’s a fun side to collecting. The more fun you have, the more it encourages people to give – like when you wear one of Marie Curie’s great big yellow hats. There’s a great camaraderie with the other collectors and the general public. "Doing the Great Daffodil Appeal, I definitely got a sense of pride and a feeling that I was giving back. I think it’s important that my young daughter sees me doing something good just for the sake of it. She’ll probably want to do it when she’s old enough."
