The Rt Hon the Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas PC AM and William Hay MLA will discuss their roles as guardians of the democratic process as the Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales and Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly respectively. The session will also examine what the young Assemblies in Wales and Northern Ireland have taken from other Parliaments, and the similarities between Dafydd Elis-Thomas’s and William’s Hay’s roles in increasing understanding of the democratic process within different sections of society.
