Across The Sea To Canada
During the Easter of 2011 I journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean to Canada for a school exchange holiday.
Arriving at 2am UK time we were all exhausted. They put on a music concert to welcome us. Luckily it was loud so none of us fell asleep. Well, almost!
I was paired with Mali. We stayed with Shobha and her lovely family who spoilt us rotten, taking us on all sorts of adventures. We went to the CN Tower, which was the perfect place for all the best photographs, there was even a glass floor over a ridiculous height.
We spent a day in their school, which was very interesting as their way of education is very different to that of ours. I mean, they all stand and sing the national anthem at the beginning of the day. I could never imagine singing Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau each morning!
However it was an interesting experience. In the evenings we went to the cinema and just hung out with their friends, they made us so welcome and treated us as if we had always been there. We then moved on to Niagara Falls which was incredible. The sheer size and noise was amazing something hard to put into words.
Canada provided me with the opportunity to meet some amazing friends who I am still in touch with today. It was a holiday so jam-packed that I won't be forgetting it any time soon.

Canada is an amazing country. Were the Blue Jays playing while you were in Toronto?
