The Bwsted editorial group went on a residential to The Manorbier youth hostel in West Wales on 30th August til 1st September. We got picked up at 12pm from Bridgend Recreation Centre. We arrived about 3.30pm. The youth hostel was great!! First thing we done was unpacked and got on with the creative writing course so we could go and have a look around the area a bit more.

We decided to go down to the beach for a walk, the sun was shining and it looked awesome. The view was amazing. The steps leading down to the beach were steap but we all had a really good time, the boys were swimming in their clothes, and doing random moves from Dirty Dancing, it was great!

The Bwsted editorial group were split into two groups, these were our groups for the next two days. The competition was on!!!! After group one were made to clean the kitchen we all had a game of pool and cards etc. Sarah, Garry and Duane decided to go for a run when they got back we had a poker game and a pool tournament. This was our idea of a relaxing evening :)

When we got to Heatherton we were slightly to get started on the activities. We all had a go at clay pigeon shooting, archery and target shooting etc. (Couldn't work out who was better, team 1 or team 2)!! We then set off to meet 'Fred' (don't know if that's his real name), for paintballing, not knowing what we were letting ourselves in for.

Before we could get started we had to put overalls on and sign some forms, while having a safety talk, nerves were then setting in! Paintballing was challenging, tiring but fun. There were a good few injuries, but they were not felt at the time!!

Before the end a few people wanted to do a duel it was fun to watch. We were all covered in paint and bruises. When we got back to the hostel I had to be carried (by the boys) from the minibus to the hostel to go and put my foot up till the pain had gone.

We had to sit at the table and eat til it was nearly all gone. It was stunning. After food we did the drugged and dangerous work shop that Angela brought along. It was really funny watching everyone take part.

Overall the residential was the best 2 days of my life it was awesome.

Thanks guys I had a great time!!!!!!
