Cinderella Will Go To The CLIC Awards!
Well it started off very much like a disaster movie! The car we were going to the CLIC Awards in broke down. Well, okay, that is an over exaggeration, but the lights weren't working and so we couldn't drive to Cardiff...I messaged a knight in shining armour (DanClic) to say I may not be able to make it.
But I did make it!
On arrival at the venue, you had the beautiful lights of the Winder Wonderland offset by the No-Fit State Circus outside. First impressions mean everything and hey presto, I was in awe.
Entering the museum you were handed a goody bag, but mine seemed to just be filled with buttons. Which is okay by me...I like buttons.
There was a banana who showed us to our seats, and so I sat down and the festivities began. I was nervous. I never expected to be nominated for an award for my article; I wrote it about my passion for volunteering and GwirForce.
The microphone echoed like mad around the museum so the sound from where I was sitting was terrible, and so hearing the speeches was hard. But when my name was announced my heart was pounding: "Me? Me? I have never really won anything in my life" and it was a pleasure to win something. Louise, my guest, sat there with the video camera on and I didn't know what to say. I was so nervous.
I sat down after my photograph, feeling glad it was over. The rest of the speeches and awards flew past in a blur to be honest. The next thing I know I am speeding back to Burry Port to go home.
This is perhaps a very short article, but guys, you had to be there. Hats, hats and more hats!

My favourite line of this article: "There was a banana who showed us to our seats"
