#CutForBieber

I am absolutely outraged!
#CutForBieber is trending on Twitter, which I personally think is extremely offensive.
I have read that the pop star has started to do drugs, which has really upset a lot of his fans and so they want him to stop.
First, being such a huge role model to so many young people, this kid really wants to start watching his behaviour in public. Punching paparazzi and smoking weed really is not the best impression to give.
Seeing as his fans want him to stop this you may think it's good. However, in order to make him stop, they are harming themselves. I have seen all over Twitter, "if you stop doing drugs, we'll stop doing this!" And after looking on Bieber's Twitter account, there were tweets made after this trend started with nothing to do with the trend. Really emphasises how much he cares.
It really does aggravate and offend me that so many young people think that this is okay. Self harming is already an extremely taboo subject in today's society which so many people know very little about, and putting this kind of light on it is just going to make matters even worse for those who do or have suffered with the problem.
These young people aren't taking into account that posting such pictures can be a trigger for others who suffer from the problem. Also, the problems this may cause for them themselves! With the possibility of scarring, severe injury or in worst cases, death, all of this for one pop star seems very superficial.
When people used to make fun of Bieber, I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of his music, but I didn't know the person so what's the point in talking about him. Now, I really couldn't care less.
I don't care if he doesn't read it, but Justin Bieber, sort your act out. Seriously, this is getting too far!

Personally, I see the whole #cutforbieber thing as a form of bullying and I agree its outrageous.
These people want Justin Bieber to do something and are attacking him emotionally until he gives in. This guilt may even drive him to depression, making him more likely to use substances for escape.
I'm in the view that what we do with our bodies is our own decision. Weed in general, from what I've heard, is less harmful than alcohol. So if Bieber wants to do whatever he wants to do with his own body then.I see that as his business.
These fans, although well intentioned, are using emotional blackmail to make someone do what they want. Although serious harm to a human is never good, I do hope that Bieber doesn't give in due to #cutforbieber

Damn, you beat me to writing an article! And you addressed everything I was going to mention! Haha! But I couldn't agree more. It's shocking how far they are going for this kid. Some photos I saw were really shocking because of how bad they'd harmed themselves. Why don't they do something else, like send him "quit smoking" links or something or draw a cigarette with a big X through it? If they did that, then I'd think it was sweet of them to show their concerns, but doing what they're doing is wrong on so many levels. x

According to some sources, the base of the trend comes from a conversation on 4chan - http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/wtf/bieber_fans_tricked_into_self-harming.html (warning - no swearing in article, but chance of swearing in article).

I couldn't agree more with End0dDarkness and IHavetheCyrusVirusxx. It upsets me that people can see this is being something that is okay to do, especially in the form of a bribe to another person, when this is something people have a genuine problem with that is an ongoing battle.
Ragnorak, as the trend continued I was reminded of that incident about 2 years ago I think on Facebook? Where a girl posed nearly naked, received a lot of abuse and then supposedly committed suicide, yet the next day anti bullying confirmed it was a troll to raise awareness of bullying. Which made me think maybe this Bieber thing was a troll initially that got way out of hand.

From what I've read, it started out as a troll which was taken too seriously. I would rather cut Bieber out of my life before cutting myself. I am a big fan of a few celebrities and I would do just about anything for them, but self harming is a big no-no.
However, I also think that people extracting the urine from this and posting mimic photos of the people taking it seriously aren't at all helping and as funny as they may find it, it really isn't.
Well done, Snow.. on your article!

Thank you Hope Love Live :)
And I agree that people aren't helping the situation by mimicking. It gives further material for those who already have issues with self harm to act as a trigger, which can be awful if someone has been really good and not hurt themselves for a few weeks :/
I still can't believe this started out as a troll. Some trolls I'll admit are funny, but when topics as serious as this are brought into, I seriously question the mental state of today's society -.-
It's beyond me how someone could be so inconsiderate and childish as to post such a thing!

Okay, so I'm a huge fan of Justin. and to be honest I think its sick and slightly weird that people are sending pictures of their cuts too Justin. If you put youself in his shoes it would seriously freak me out.
I personally have never ever done this #CutForBieber thing and never will, its Justins choice if he wants smoke weed, they should be fans of his music.
But the people who are posting pictures making jokes towards the people that have '#CutForBieber' also makes me disgusted its now obvious that these girls have a problem, but self harming is nothing to joke about. I think more should be done for everyone thats involved!

@Snow.. Trollers on 4chan have something against Bieber, since they did this before. Remember the whole "shave for Bieber" thing, where people started shaving their hair to comfort Bieber after he was diagnosed with cancer? Yeah, loads of his fans shaved their hair, not knowing he's cancer-free.
There are idiots in this world. Some of them make the rules (or in this case, trends), others blindly follow them. It is a shame.
People really need to do their research before believing anything on the internet. That should be day one of ICT lessons.

And before believing anything in real life too.

I couldn't agree more. It is outrageous because these kids have not got the sense to actually realise they are ruining their lives alongside others. There are people out there who are truly suffering and they turn to self harm. These overly obesessed fans are rather stupid and frankly they need some flaming sense! Justin Beiber clearly doesn't care because he hasn't stopped and he isn't taking notice. Having said that though, I do think it's his own life and he should be free to do what he wants without being judged BUT he does have a loyal band of followers and this is damaging their health and lives. Its actually sad. Good article xoxo
