The Duke Of Edinburgh Award held a celebration evening in recognition of 52 Wrexham young people who gained awards.

The evening was held at Glyndwr University on Thursday 28 January.

The worshipful Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Arwel Gwynn Jones, and the High Sheriff of Clwyd, Mr Henry Roberts, presented the awards.

The presentation was preceded by a play performed by St Christopher’s School entitled Drink Drive which raised awareness of the issue of drinking and driving.

Forty-two young people gained bronze awards, six gained silver, two achieved gold, and two others gained section certificates.

The Duke Of Edinburgh Award is an exciting challenge for young people between the ages of 14 and 24 offering the opportunity to learn new skills, explore and enjoy the environment and actively engage in volunteering and contributing to the local community.
