Why use Facebook when you can pay for a lift down to your family or friends?

If they live in Ireland why couldn't you get a ship down there, or if they live abroad, get a plane there?

Even if they live in the same town, why couldn't you get a taxi or walk there?

These days people are really LAZY, sitting on their chairs and playing or talking on Facebook because there is nothing better to do. There's loads of other things you can do. Fishing, golf, football, actually seeing your friends face to face.

I keep hearing loads of stories about how people get in to fights and hurt other people's feelings over Facebook. Some people put pictures of people on the web and take the mick out of them. This can cause people to go into school and fight with people.

I don't like Facebook - what do you think?

I am not a huge facebook user. But I disagree with you with the fact that you can't always just get up and go see your friends. Im 21 - most of my friends have either gone off to university, found themselves a job or have moved abroad. It would be impossible for me to get a taxi, train or plane just to say Hi and have a catch up every single day. It;s not lazy, it's just a more convientient form of socialising... thats what it is... a SOCIAL site. So personally I see facebook as a friend. :)

I think Facebook is good for people who want to keep in contact with new friends or find old friends but a there has been a rise in cyber bullying through facebook and other sites like it. It should be made clear that you are annoyumus when reporting any behavour that you think is not appropriate on facebook as many people are always unsure whether you are or not!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the concept of Facebook - it's pretty genius really.
Personally, I think it causes more problems than it solves. But then again, the problems associated with FB can be associated with any other social networking site, so FB isn't any worse really. Talking through text and internet leads to misinterpretation and arguments, and cyber-bullying existed before Facebook became a phenomenon.

I do see Facebook as a bit of a foe sometimes, but only because social networking is taken advantage of too often. If it didn't exist, something similar to it would only replace it. So I think it's one of those things you just have to live with, for better or for worse.

With facebook you can organise with your friends to go and do activities like fishing, golf, football, actually seeing your friends face to face. The events feature is really helpful for organize days out as i can include a wide range of friends and they can all comment on the single event.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with family as I have relatives all over the world and it's practically impossible to meet up with some of them. I also use it to get in touch with people when I have no money on my phone or because some people's phones are dead. I think it's a great idea but I think this whole "fraping" thing is really annoying.

Yeah, okay, if you have a mate sleeping over and they write a status on your account which is funny and not offensive, then fair enough. But some people (in my school especially) take it way too far. People tell their "best friends" their passwords and when they argue, they tell other people that person's password and soon enough the whole school knows your password! People also use other people's accounts to offend and bully others so they don't get the blame. I think that's completely wrong and there should be a message going around saying about the consequences of password sharing. Then again a lot of people these days completely blank the whole concept of the message and do what they want anyway. I guess some people will just never learn.
