I see you sitting across the room from me in class.

I wonder if you notice me, I wonder even if you know my name.

I’m the girl sitting by the window if you didn’t know.

I’m the one whose hair falls into her face constantly, no matter how many times I tuck it behind my ear.

I don’t care for fashion; I’m happy in my hoodies and jeans. I wear little makeup except for eyeliner and possibly lip-gloss every now and again.

I look at some of the girls in the class and wonder what they were thinking looking like someone who should be on page three, but perhaps that’s the sort of girl you would notice.

I know your friends do. They are the sort of girls all guys probably notice. Not a girl who constantly has her head in a book and headphones in her ears. I sit and watch you sometimes, not in a stalker way, but just hoping that you will look my way. You did once. I don’t think you really saw me though; it was a brief second before you looked back to your friends.

I wish I had the confidence to come over and speak to you one day� or one day you might even speak to me. Until then I’ll just sit across from you in class, noticing you not noticing me.
