Well, here goes, this is my first attempt at writing an article, and no doubt Ryan will amend it. [*Slowly sharpens pencil* - national ed]

I have just returned from the maddest weekend ever and I have survived - hooray!

My voice didn't, though, and I've been suffering chronic heartburn ever since.

I'd better tell you where I have been, but have a guess first...

Go on, guess...

Keep guessing...

No, it's not a picturesque European city, it's better than that, honest!

It was...

Butlins Minehead, for an 80s weekend!

Adults only, no kids for a whole weekend. I thought, 'bliss I can relax and chill out,' but that is not the case. It's non-stop partying from the time you get there to the time you depart.

I can honestly say by the Monday I thought I was dying through lack of food and sleep (the latter because of the pesky seagulls and the non-stop parties going on around us), but put those two essentials for a healthy lifestyle aside I had the best time ever.

My fancy dress costumes consisted of Madonna on the first night and Dolly Parton on the second. It was fabulous to see how much effort hundreds of people had gone to dressing up, it was such a spectacular view looking at everyone from the embankment on the site.

The entertainment was second-to-none, with comedians, tribute bands and some stars from the 80s (I expect half of you reading this weren't even born then) including Jaki Graham and Go West. The best act was Mercury, a tribute band to Queen. They were amazing.

The point I'm trying to make is if you get an opportunity to go, jump at it because you haven't partied properly until you have been to a Butlins 80s party!

Back to bed I go because I'm still in recovery.

Glad you had a good time SarahP, hey this could be the start of something. What with the summer hols coming up perhaps we can get our CLIC peeps to send their holiday blogs in to CLIC. Get uploading your stories, I know I'd love to read them, but then again I can be very nosy!
