Meet Young Dragons
Today I met with Inspector Chris O'Driscoll from a group called Young Dragons.
The aim of Young Dragons is to increase opportunities for young people to get involved in and help to make a difference to their communities.
Young Dragons is made up of numerous uniformed youth organisations namely: Scouts, Girlguiding, St John Ambulance, Military Cadets, Police Cadets, Fire Cadets, Boys and Girls Brigade they also work collaboratively with youth services and education departments.
Young Dragons is a relatively new group and it is hoped that there will be eight Young Dragons groups established over the coming months covering the whole of Wales.
Their vision is to have fun and adventures whilst inspiring the young people of Wales to actively contribute to their communities. Their aim is also to encourage adults across the wider community to become involved so as to help run the new uniformed groups and to increase the number of young people engaging with uniformed youth organisations while increasing the number of groups within those organisations.
This is a fantastic project and if you would like to hear more about it and to get involved in your community please contact Christopher.O'Driscoll@gwent.pnn.police.uk or check out their website http://www.youngdragons.org.uk/
