One Candle
Just one white candle
Insignificant little light
Just fades in to dark
Out of mind, out of sight.
An unimportant light
Continues to burn on
No one will miss it
When its flame has gone.
If this light could feel?
Would it be afraid?
Maybe it doesn't want to die
Maybe its choice is made.
Maybe it's all been planned
Its ready to fade away
Maybe if it could feel
It doesn't want another day.
But light has no emotions
Maybe it's for the best
But watch that flame fade
Cos it's unique like all the rest.
And don't just forget it
Because its flame is slightly dull
Maybe, just maybe it's more than light
Maybe it's a life that has just let go.
