Red Cross NEET Idea

Yn Gymraeg

Y’know the Red Cross? The aid and medicine people that rock up in disaster zones around the world? Did you know they also do schemes, programs and work within the UK? I didn’t. maybe the UK is now a disaster zone? Surely not?

Anyway, I’m writing this because the Red Cross is launching a new scheme in South Wales, in Community First areas in Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Caerphilly, RCT, Merthyr Tydfil, Bridgend and Swansea.

They call the project a Supportive Employment Scheme. What that means is that they offer you a paid placement (a job in other words) in a series of sectors such as admin, retail, health and social care and youth and community work. You’ll receive full training and even get support from an Engagement Officer for the length of the placement, usually 26 weeks, six months or half a year depending on your preferred measurement of time.

So if you’re 16-17, not in education, employment or training and fancy a stab at this then that's great. This info is so fresh off the press that the Red Cross will be posting all the opportunities on their jobs page in the next couple of days but if you want some info now then I'd recommend dropping them an email - wales_enquiries@redcross.org.uk
