Review: Untouchable

Before I sat down to watch this film, I Googled the story to see if I would like it. It sounded like it could be interesting, and there were lots of positive reviews out there. But then I realised that it is in French with English subtitles.
Now, to be fair, this put me off. It can be so tiring watching a film that is in another language. I am one of those people who like to do something else while watching a film, like surfing the web, or checking Facebook. I couldn’t imagine how I would sit through all 107 minutes without getting bored.
Because it was based on a true story, and because there are such good reviews, I gave the film five minutes, if I didn’t think it was worth watching by then I would turn it off.
Well, two minutes in, and I was hooked.
It is a story about a millionaire who is paralysed from the neck down, and how he surprisingly employs a streetwise carer on a whim. Although for a while there is a clash of personalities and backgrounds, it isn’t until the pair go their separate ways that they realise just how firm and life changing a friendship they both have.
This film is heartwarming and there are some very funny moments. Needless to say, I really enjoyed this film and could thoroughly recommend it.

Good review and I agree, I usually find it hard to watch a film with subtitles. But a street wise carer with a millionaire, sounds like it'd be fun!

Thanks - it was certainly worth watching - slightly mad at times too :)
