See Me / Dyma Fi

Keith Towler is the current Children’s Commissioner for Wales. Prior to this he worked as a programme director for Save The Children In Wales. Evidently, his main concern is the welfare of children and young people in Wales, the prevention of poverty and negative labels towards them.
As Towler is concerned with the interests of children within Wales, he aims to promote positive images of both children and young people.
Look at the picture on the right. Towler poses the question; "When you look at this image what do you see?" Immediately, generalisations could spring to mind, such as ‘hoodie’ and other preconceptions of modern day youths.
Towler clearly feels strongly about the issue of negative labels that are attached to young people and so has begun leading a brand-new campaign called ‘See Me/Dyma Fi’. The aim of this campaign is to defeat the negative stereotypes of young people today and to encourage positive attitudes towards children and young people living in Wales.
Towler believes that this campaign presents a great chance to promote positive images of both children and young people, representing them as a good example for the next generation of children. By doing this in Wales, Towler believes that this could be encouraged all over the world and eventually conquer the pre-judgements of young people that so many people create in their minds.
In order to achieve this Towler asks you to join his campaign. How? Well, support can be given to the campaign by sending messages of support and/or your organisation’s logo to: email@example.com. Also, you can tweet messages of support and encouragement to @SeeMe_DymaFi.
Towler has also created a website for the campaign, which should be going live as soon as possible. The website will include a number of elements, such as editorial guidelines for journalists and press officers.
Further information concerning Keith Towler’s campaign can be obtained by writing to Towler himself, emailing him or calling his office.
