"No! I not moving to wales, what the hell Sam!" that was it, I had lost my temper and stormed off to my room. I hate moving, and especially to wales, it's a stupid place to live. I love England. London to be exact, that's where I live, it's where I've always lived. It's home to me, where my few friends live. I have trouble making them, so I don't exactly want to move and lose the ones I have. Getting to my room I turn my stereo up to full blast letting Paramore ring through my ears. The next thing I knew Sam was banging on my door, he's my dad but I hate him with all my energy. He's controlling and just a complete arse. He hates it when I call him Sam, so that's exactly what I do. I call him that just to annoy him further.

Getting up off of my bed I go to my bedroom door and as predicted Sam was there furious and filled with anger.

"Look, can't you just leave me alone for one minute? God Sam it's not exactly like you care!" I slammed the door back in his face and ignored the yells coming from the other side. Moving back to my bed, I put my face in my pillow and screamed. God that man does my head in. The consistent thought trickled through my mind. I wish I wasn't part of this family. I hate it here with them, with him. How about they move and I stay her? But no, Sam would never allow that to happen- it would mean he'd be losing control of someone.

"Come on Xenia, get in the car" mum shouted from outside of the house. Throwing my bag over my shoulder, I slowly dragged my feet to the car. Sam just looked at me from the drivers seat- if looks could kill I certainly would have dropped down dead by now.

Climbing into the back seat of the car next to Steven, my brother- whom I love calling him Stevie as it only annoys him. Already the leather seats were slick with sweat and sticking to my bare shoulders and legs. That's what you get for wearing a strappy top and shorts, I mentally scolded myself. Within moments we were driving away. Away from our old house, the house I could partially call home. The place where I had friends. A little while later Sam turned on some country music. Now, I like some country music- like Dolly Parton for example, but the stuff Sam had playing - it was Hell.

We were in that car for 8 long hours, stopping here and there for toilet breaks and to get some food at some services. Normally car rides from London to Wales shouldn't last that long, but this one did. I knew Sam was only doing it as revenge for the way I had treated him earlier. Finally the car stopped, and  we pulled up outside this old thatched cottage. It was quite small with what could be a big garden. Getting out I decided to explore what I was now supposed to call my new home. The garden was big, it had a little pond at the end of it with some fish. The was an assortment of fish, but not much. The was also an orchard to the left with an Apple and Plum tree. The grass was neatly cut and a lovely green colour - we didn't have a garden this pretty back home. Bracing myself, I eventually decided to take a look inside our new home. More specifically - my bedroom.

My room was quite a big room, it still had it's traditional look. It had thick long, brown beams going across the ceiling, which was a great contrast against the pale white walls. My floor was a mahogany brown wood laminate, with a few rugs here and there to make it more homely. I had one large bay window that overlooked the garden. Hanging from it were long drapes, that I was soon to change. Under the window was an old dresser and next to it against the wall was a tall wardrobe to hang clothes in. On top of the dresser was a large mirror well that's one good thing then the thought trickled into my mind as I dumped my bag onto my four poster bed that lay in the centre of the room against the far wall.

"Xenia can you set the table please?" mum called up the stairs. Hearing this I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. I could smell that she had been cooking fish. Looks like it was just a throw-me-together meal tonight.

"Sure" I replied, grabbing the four table mats, forks, knives and spoons. Walking over to the table I set everything accordingly. I could see that mum was dishing up and so I quickly got four glasses and set them down too, just in time as she was plating the plates on the table. I sat down at one space, next to my brother. Sam came in through the door and sat down next to him as my mother followed. We all dug in to eat.I was first to finish and then Steven, my brother. We both put our plates into the sink and went upstairs. I followed him to his room, it was the same as my own really. Only mine looked more feminine.

"Hey Stevie hows things?" He hates it when I call him that. Steven was only 15, and already taller than me. He's not like normal boys his age, yes he has the typical brown hair, brown eyes like others, but he has extremely clear skin with no spots - that's the perk of having wolf genes in your blood. He gets the choice on the next full moon after his birthday, whether he wants to be one or not. I didn't have that choice, Sam forced me to follow in his path - that's why I hate him.

"Go away , Xenia, stop harassing me! Haven't you got a full moon to prepare for in a few days?" Throwing a pillow at me he just glared.

"WHAT THE HELL STEVIE! I come here to talk and you just abuse me?" I threw the pillow back and glared at him before storming out and slamming the door behind me.

Storming into my room, I played some more Paramore. Sam hates it when I play them but it doesn't matter, I like them. Just because he doesn't, doesn't mean I can't listen to them, besides they're one of my favourite bands. I start singing along to Misery Business at the top of my lungs until Sam started banging on the door.
"Turn that stuff off" he started to shout. Opening the door Sam stood, yet again red faced with me. He was very tall - about 6''7" and had dark hair, and brown eyes, like Steve and was very muscular, and, unlike the rest of us, had dark toned skin. Whenever Sam shouts you can hear the ringing in your ears because it's so forceful and loud. Doing what he asked I turned it down but only a few notches - apparently though it still wasn't enough. He pushed past me and reached for my iPod. I tried to protest but he wouldn't have it and so unplugged it from my speakers and tore the speakers apart. My face went red, warm salty tears fell down my cheeks. Pushing past Sam in rage I walked outside the house, ignoring his shouts behind me. The cool air outside whipped at my hair and helped me to calm down. Tomorrows a full moon, Sam, like myself - gets ratty on a full moon.

My anger drained almost instantly and I felt really sleepy. The best thing to do was to go back inside and sleep. Climbing up the stairs I opened the covers on my bed and slipped inside not bothering to change out of my clothes. Almost instantly my eyes closed and everything went black. I woke up to a light filled room. Getting up I sleepily rubbed my eyes and trudged off into the bathroom to have a shower. After that I changed into black skinny jeans and my "I Love Werewolves" t-shirt from David and Goliath. Slipping on my shoes I hopped downstairs to get some breakfast before going to school.

I had to hurry because it's my first day of school. I'm looking forward to it because it means I can get out of the house, but I'm also a little scared. I don't like meeting new people, it's really hard because I'm different.

Arriving at school it was 8:30 am. Its the typical high school, tall, big buildings with lots of windows. There were big square buildings too, all consisting of red brick colouring. Around the outside was a fence and huge gates that would probably be locked to stop the children leaving the premises.

Making my way to go to reception to get my time table was daunting. The place was full of people, luckily I was blending in - for now. Looking at my timetable I noticed I had maths first, it was in the far east of the building. Stopping outside the door I could feel myself freeze up. I didn't know what to do. I was scared. Suddenly the door opened for me, there in the doorway was a bald man with a beard and bottled glasses.

"Come in." he said politely ushering my forward. Stepping into the class I felt everyone's eyes watching me. I stood at the front of the class waiting to be told what to do next. One pair of eyes stood out, they looked at me with hatred and lust. Throughout the smell of sweat and feet I could pick up on an odd bitter sweet smell, it was strange... I'd smelt similar smells like this before, but none quite as pungent as this.

"Introduce yourself miss...?" the teacher said to me. Folding my arms across my chest I cleared my throat.

"Uh I'm Xenia MerryGold, 17 and from England. I recently moved to Wales, so... yeah." Taking in a deep breath I unfolded my arms.

"Thank you, please take a seat next to Harry. Harry raise your hand so Xenia can see you." he commanded.

Then a ginger headed boy raised his hand, from what I could see he had glasses, braces and freckles, but was unusually handsome.

I went over and sat next to him. He smelt like sweat and could do with using a little more deodorant in the mornings.

"H..H..Hi" he said with a stutter.

"Hey." I said with a welcoming smile. Seeming pleased with my reply he spoke with more confidence.

"So you're from England?" I could see his eyes sparkle with interest.

"Yeah. Have you lived here you whole life?" I asked.

"Yep, it gets quite boring though" with a sigh he turned back to the board to copy down whatever was written on it. He's actually okay the thought entered my mind. I'd assumed he would have been a nerd because of the glasses, but he's not.

During the day I had people staring at me, after the first few lessons I got used to it and it didn't bother me anymore. I made some new friends, one of them was the ginger kid from Maths, his name is Tom. I ate with them at lunch where we all got to know each other better.

Final lesson. English, one of my favourite subjects because I was good at it. I walked into the classroom and he was there, the one who smelt bitter-sweet, he was looking at me now, I could still see the lust in his eyes, but there was a lot more curiosity now. My English teach told me to take a seat next to him.

"Mr. Blake raise your hand" she asked. He raised his hand to indicate where I he was. Walking over to him I took the empty seat and put my bag on the floor. I could feel his eyes bore into me.

"What!" I whispered, turning to face him. There was no reply, he just carried on staring at me.

"Is there a problem?" I asked harshly at him. Then he eventually spoke.

"It's... nothing" His voice was different somehow, but I couldn't pinpoint what was different about it.

"Well do you mind? It's rude to stare at people - idiot!" I muttered scowling at him. He eventually looked away, but I could still feel his eyes glance at me every so often. Eventually the bell rang out signalling the end of lesson.

"We'll continue this tomorrow" the teacher concluded

"You may go."

Walking down the hall to the front entrance where I knew my mum would be waiting, I had a weird sensation of someone following me. Spinning around I noticed it was Blake.

"What you want? Seriously, can't you just leave me alone?" I said full of annoyance.

"Its a full moon tonight right Xenia?" he asked with searching eyes that peered into my own. It was like he knew somehow...

"Why do you ask?" I said rather sharply at him.

"Just wondering, so is it?" he said with a crooked smile.

"Yeah" my smile faltered and I knew he noticed.

"Cool" and with that he turned around and left. Stunned I slowly moved in the direction of the door.

Outside in the car park, my mum was waiting for me in the car. She was a slim women with dark brown hair, brown eyes and tanned. I could see why Sam had fallen for her. Lots of guys thought she was stunning. Not like me, I was the complete opposite with my dyed black hair and light brown eyes, my skin was very pale. You would think I was the walking dead.

I stepped into the car, throwing my bag over the back seat and started singing while we drove through the village. We arrived home soon after. The house was quiet, apart from the shuffling of Sam packing his bag for the full moon.

"Go get ready" He snapped at me as soon as I entered the kitchen. Turning around I climbed the staircase to my room and threw in any old clothes. I really wasn't bothered what went in, Sam usually had the essentials.

"We are leaving at 7, before it gets dark. It should give us enough time to find a safe place to go." he announced to everyone, as he pulled the straps tight on his bag. I hate full moons.

7 O'clock came around quickly. Grabbing the door handle I walked out into our back garden. Sam lead the way to the thick woods, which started at the end of our garden. The trees were thick and hardly any light peered in through the canopy of leaves over head.

"We have to be quick" Sam muttered. I felt it too, the strain on our muscles as the moon started to rise. A little while later we entered a small clearing where we set down our bags. Sam went one way and I went the other to undress...

* * * * *

Screaming in pain , I felt my bones shifting position, in the distance I could hear Sam scream out in unison with my own pain drenched screams. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the ribs over and over, my bones stared to crunch as they were snapping into place. I could feel my skin tingling, knowing that the fur was growing and spreading out over my body. My arms and legs stretched along with my feet making me fall onto all fours, unable to stand. My face grew into a snout, my canines reaching over my lips. Arching my back I dug my long, thick nails into the earth, as I stretched out my back before letting out a rippling howl.
Then it was all over, I had made my transformation, I had become what I hated most. A werewolf. I saw Sam had changed also, because he's the alpha male he was much bigger than me, I was much smaller. Sam's fur was brown not like mine, I had black fur that flowed over my body. After signalling for me to follow with a loud howl he sprinted off into the woods.

* * * * *

I awoke in the woods, to the beginning lights of dawn. I had blood on face, like usual. Next to me was a dead deer, laying there torn apart. I don't intend to kill when I'm in wolf form, but the animal inside just cries out. I noticed Sam was still asleep half way across the field curled up under a tree. Moving over to my bag I got dressed into my clothes before I gathering up the ones I discarded last night. Collecting Sam's clean clothes I dumped them on him.

"Sam? Sam c'mon wake up" he didn't reply

"SAM!" deciding one call was enough I kicked him. He jumped up alarmed thinking something was wrong.

"What, what's the matter?!" my actions registered and anger washed over his face.

"It's time to go" turning around I headed back home.

We arrived home in 30 minutes, we must have been deep in the woods for it to take that long. Mum was sat in the living room, while Steven was upstairs still asleep.

"I'm off back to sleep" I mumbled to my mum as I trudged upstairs tiredly. Slipping into bed I fell back to sleep almost instantly.

Waking up to my alarm several hours later, I got changed into better clothes. Chucking on a white plain t-shirt with pink jeans and pink daps I headed off to school for another boring day of lessons.

Surprisingly the day went by really quickly, all that was left was English. I had to sit my Blake again, apparently that was now the seating plan for the year. We didn't talk unless we had to, which wasn't often. Soon enough the hour was up and it was time to go home.

Outside, I breathed in the fresh air. Knowing I had to walk home today I decided to go to the shop on my way. The scenery I passed was beautiful. I was so used to the confinement of the city in London that I hadn't really had the chance to see anything to enchanting.

Looking over a bridge into a ravine I smelt the familiar bitter-sweet smell. Looking up I saw him walking towards me. Stopping next to me he too looked over the bridge.

"Hey" he smiled. Pushing myself away from the barrier I tried to walk around him but he wouldn't let me.

"What you want?" I sighed looking him up and down whilst folding my arms across my chest with annoyance.

"What? Can't a guy talk to a pretty girl like you?" I knew he was teasing me but I couldn't help feel my heart flutter.

"No. Now get out of my way" Again I tried to step around him but this time he stepped directly into my path.

"Come with me?" he asked softly trying to take my hand.

"Why would I want to do that?" I replied batting his hand away as he took a step forward.

"Just trust me, please?" I could feel his crystal blue eyes bore into my own, hypnotizing me. Blinking I looked away blushing before turning back and accepting his offer.

He lead me away from the path that I was following into a thick of trees. Climbing over rocks, fallen trees and branches, eventually we ended up by a lake. It was beautiful. The water was crystal clear - like his eyes. A few meters away was a small waterfall that rushed over the edge. There were reeds on the river bank with lillies in full bloom. Little ripples rippled on the top of the water as ducks were swimming around and bobbing under the waters surface.

"Why am I here?" I asked breathing in the beauty.

"Beautiful, is it not?" he was staring off into the distance.

"Yes, now tell me, why am I here?" I replied impatiently.

"I like it here, and I thought you would too" he said in a husky voice. Looking at him I could see his eyes filled with lust. There's something about this guy... But what?

We sat down and talked for a while about where we lived before, he'd been to so many different places it was amazing. Sadly he assured me he couldn't remember what all of them were like as he was only young. Every time he drew the conversation back to me, about what I was like when I was younger and my family.

"Why are you asking me so many questions?" I asked, absently ruffling my short hair.

"I'm intrigued by you, and I really like your company" he looked away and mumbled something incomprehensible, even for my ears.

"I'm sorry what was that?" I lent in closer intent on hearing what he said this time. He turned around, started at the close proximity.

"I shouldn't be here, talking with you and enjoying your company - it's against everything" he said hatred filling his eyes.

"Why shouldn't you enjoy my company? What's everything?" Confused I looked him directly in the eye. I could see his eyes sparkling with shunned tears, his fists clenched with anger. I reached out to take his hand but stopped halfway.

"Because of what I am". He said through clenched teeth.

What's he talking about?

"Stop speaking in riddles" I interrupted him, getting impatient. My anger was bubbling up inside of me.

"Because I'm different" he said annoyed.

"What you mean different?" I lent in towards him, lowering my voice and making it soft.

"Don't you know what I am?" his asked looking at me his eyes twinkling with curiosity "I know what you are" I looked at him in startled horror.

How could he know? No one knew but my family! My mind was racing over and over, relaying the past two days to see if I had let anything sleep, but nothing came to mind.

"I don't know what you mean" I stood up defensively and tried to walk away, but he grabbed my sleeve and pulled me back down.

"Yes you do - Werewolf" he whispered the last word to me. He struck a nerve. I hated being called that by Sam, let alone someone who knew nothing.

"Look I don't know where you got that from but its not true! Don't you dare call me that again!" I was seething with anger, ready to explode from within. He looked me from under his long eyelashes, then he lent in and kissed me. My first reaction was to pull away, but I found I didn't want to. His lips were cold and firm, crushing against my own. I ran my fingers through his thick hair, pulling him closer to me. After a few minutes we broke apart. I touched my tingling lips.

"You're lips are cold" I was stunned, not knowing what to do.

"Is that a problem?" he asked crawling towards me, worry filling his eyes.

"Its just strange that's all" I stuttered a little unsure of my words.

"What are you Blake? You're not human I know that" there was a long pause before he answered, slowly and deliberately.

"A vampire" he looked away when he said those words. I froze, I was in complete shock.

What had I just done? I had just made out with a vampire, our kind can't mix with those. Sam's told me many times that they're wrong, an abomination of mankind. But if that's the case, why hasn't he attacked me yet? Why do I get these strange mix of feelings when near him? The thought kept going around and around, making my head spin. I held my head rightly in my hands.

"Are you alright?" He asked panicking. He reached over to touch my arm but I nudged him away. Looking at him torn with my voice unsteady.

"I have to go" I croaked out before breaking off into a stride. The trees blurred as I felt warm, hot tears trickle down my face.

I walked through the doors and ran straight up the stairs into my room I closed the door gently behind me as to not alert the others that something was wrong. I sat down on my bed. I didn't know what to do then suddenly Sam burst through the door.

"Whats the matter?" he was alarmed and his voice boomed through the room,

"Nothing, go away" I said trying to hide the fact that I am now in love with a vampire - an actual vampire. Our worst enemy.

How could all of this happen to me? Why do all the bad things happen?

I finally heard the door close with a soft click. He was gone, at long last. Pushing my face into my pillow I started to weep. Heart wrenching sobs shock my body shaking as I continued to cry.

I must have been crying for sometime and quite loudly too, because I didn't notice when my mum came in and sat on my bed next to me, until she started stroking my hair and talking.

"Darling what's wrong?" she spoke soothingly, moving my fringe out of my eyes. I looked at her, and burst out into fresh tears. She cradled me in her arms, continuing to sooth me until I had stopped shedding new tears.

"It's okay, you can tell me, I'm not going to tell your father" she whispered close to my ear. Relaxing a little, I decided I could trust her. After all she's not like Sam and she is my mother. If there's anyone I trust it has got to be her. Taking several deep breaths to calm and prepare myself I clutch her closer to me, before whispering in her ear.

"I... I'm in love with a Vampire mum"

To be continued...
