Insecure, uncomfortable, ugly and fat?

Look at pictures of our icons in the media, magazines and television and this is what some of us start to feel.

Just because some celebrities look like this, it doesn't mean they are beautiful. There was a documentary recently about extreme weight loss, and the impact it had on me was shocking.

Trying to achieve this beautiful size zero look is dangerous, with some celebs having even died to look ridiculously thin.

Karen Carpenter died of a heart attack in 1983 because she constantly battled to be thin and anorexia nervosa killed her because her eating habits became a disorder. Her heart attack was caused by heartbeat irregularities brought on by chemical imbalances associated with anorexia nervosa and malnutrition. She was a well famous singer and the press and the public were very shocked when they heard about it.

Please don't be tempted to look like this because they put themselves in danger to be this thin. You all must have heard of the likes of Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Mary-Kate Olsen.

Yes, they're famous, rich and pretty but they are all terribly underweight. I bet all of you girls sit and look at these mags and as I do, think I wish I was that skinny. But you're not realising it's not beautiful to be that way. These celebs go to extreme lengths to achieve this horrible look.

Marilyn Monroe, the most gorgeous woman of all time was a voluptuous size 16, would that happen nowadays?

All I want to say is that you are YOU and you should stay healthy. Don’t feel pressured by the media, because you could end up dead.

Sub-Ed Note: Although less common, boys can suffer from anorexic disorders and body image pressure too.

its all stupid!
it shouldnt matter wether your black white or blue
skinny or "fat"
these days your fat if you dont wear under a size 10.
as long as your happy as who you are does it really matter?
all the gossip magazines and tv programmes make it all a lot worse knocking everyone down and making them feel rubbish. it's not just size that people judge you for these days it's what you wear were you live and what hair and make up you wear. and you get criticised for doing something wrong or wearing something the wrong way. society needs to realise that even snide little comments towards celebrities in magazines affects us. cause we realise that we look like that sometimes so there must be something wrong with us and take the criticism personally. they complain about celebrities being ultra skinny but they force them to do it as they call them fat if there bones dont stick out. and then they get dangerously skinny and the magazines still have a go at them for that. so what are they suppoused to do. It's all a vicious cycle. but people complain about what the magazines say yet they still buy them and read all the crap in them !!!!
