Pembrokeshire’s Youth Assembly is hosting its second Question Time event on Tuesday 12 April 2011 at the Merlin Theatre, Pembrokeshire College, Haverfordwest.

Question Time is open to all young people aged 11-25 living in Pembrokeshire, and will be hosted by the county's Youth Assembly.

The BBC’s Question Time has been running for over 25 years and is Britain’s most watched political programme.

Young people will be able to ask questions about burning issues that affect them to a panel made up of key decision-makers. The event aims to help young people learn about citizenship, contribute to stimulating political discussions, improve their speaking and listening skills and engage with members of the community.

At a recent Youth Assembly meeting, members were asked which issues they would discuss during their ideal Question Time and what questions they would ask the panel. The results generated which decision-makers would be invited to sit on the panel and face questions from a live audience.

Panel members will be people at the highest level who are responsible for deciding the policies and spending in their field. Subject areas will include education, crime, transport and leisure.

Its aim is to give young people all round the county the chance to debate directly with leading decision-makers and others who hold power and have influence: to exchange opinions, and also to scrutinise and hold to account. The live audience is as much a part of the event as those sitting on the panel.

They will question the panel on a range of topical issues affecting young people across the county.

The event is open to all young people aged 11-25 living in Pembrokeshire. Spaces are limited, so if you would like to attend the event, please contact the Youth Information And Participation Team on 01646 680863.
