The Day Of Hell
This is about that dreaded day when you all pile into a car at six in the morning to go around all your relatives one day before Christmas.
Mine was Sunday 11 December and here is my tale of adventure, torment and numbness.
At least we didn't leave at 6am. No, we left at ten instead, so a bit of a lie-in but still, I would have rather stayed at home, but no I had to go, but at least it's all over.
So we went from my sister's house (that's where I was staying for the night) all the way to Amesbury (those of you who know about Wiltshire will know that's were Stonehenge is) to my grandad's to see my aunty and thee cousins who are only three, two and six months.
From there it was down to Southampton (that's where I used to live). Me and my sister went to see her best friend, and my mother and her girlfriend went to see our old neighbour, so it was there an hour and then we went down to Waterloo Ville to my grandmother and spent an hour there (this is now coming to about 6-7pm).
From Waterloo Ville we headed to a little village called Mere to see my great aunty and my second cousins (got there at 8:30pm). This one I didn't mind too much because my second cousin Sammie is awesome, a fantastic girl to talk to. She's one that also likes to read and whatnot, only problem is her taste in music (yes that's right, its Justin Bieber) but we were there for nearly two hours, so we left at 10:30pm.
Then it took a good two and a half hours to get home, but we were hungry so it was a detour via a well-known pizza place for a huge pizza to eat. I didn't get back until midnight. Baring in mind that I hadn't been home since Thursday last week, you can imagine the reception my dog gave me (yes, she told me off).
I got to see relatives but I wanted to stay at home, and you know what? I'm going to see more relatives this Sunday, but this one I don't mind, she's cooking me a roast dinner, and all of you who are lucky enough to still have your grandparents with you today can probably agree that a Sunday roast cooked by your grandmother is always going to be better than anything your parents will ever cook (mm, yummy roast dinner).
I hope you all get to see your extended family this year, and I hope you all have a good Christmas full of joy and cheer.

That's some hardcore cross-country travelling! Wouldn't be so bad if you went to one p-lace and stayed put. Mind you at least you get everyone out of the way in one hit!
