Twenty-two Youth Assembly members from Pembrokeshire enjoyed a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament at the beginning of April 2009.

The educational visit to Westminster was funded by 14-19 Pathways and was arranged in order for the members to see where the country’s important laws and decision making take place.

As the Youth Assembly provides young people in the County with a voice and involves them in community decision-making, a visit to Parliament and its debating chambers was seen to complement and support the work these young members do.

Accompanied by Pembrokeshire Youth staff, the group began their tour at the Royal Entrance.  This was then followed by the key areas of the estate including Victoria Tower, the Queen’s Robing Room, the Royal Gallery, the Prince’s Chamber, the House of Lords, Peers’ Lobby, Central Lobby, Commons Lobby, House of Commons, St Stephen’s Hall and Westminster Hall.

Mwynhaodd dau ar hugain o aelodau’r Cynulliad Ifanc o Sir Benfro daith gyda thywysydd o amgylch Tŵ’r Cyffredin ddechrau mis Ebrill 2009.

Cyllidwyd yr ymweliad addysgol i San Steffan gan Lwybrau 14-19 ac fe’i trefnwyd er mwyn i’r aelodau weld lle llunnir deddfau a lle gwneir penderfyniadau pwysig y wlad.

Oherwydd bod y Cynulliad Ifanc yn rhoi llais i bobl ifanc yn y Sir ac yn eu cynnwys mewn llunio penderfyniadau cymunedol, ystyrid bod ymweliad â’r Senedd a’i hystafelloedd dadlau yn cyd-fynd â ac yn cefnogi’r gwaith a wna’r aelodau ifanc hyn.

Gyda staff Ieuenctid Sir Benfro, dechreuodd y grŵp ar eu taith wrth y Fynedfa Frenhinol.  Yna aeth y daith â nhw o amgylch y mannau pwysig gan gynnwys Tŵr Fictoria, Ystafell Wisgo’r Frenhines, yr Oriel Frenhinol, Siambr y Tywysog, Tŵr Arglwyddi, Lobi’r Arglwyddi, y Lobi Ganolog, Lobi Tŵ’r Cyffredin, Tŵ’r Cyffredin, Neuadd Sant Stephen a Neuadd Westminster.
