Win Double Your Grant!
Launched just in time for Freshers’ Week, here's a chance for three students to be put through their first year of university debt free!
It's not uncommon for a student to accrue over £5,000 of student debt for each year of study*, and to highlight the financial challenges faced by today’s youth, mobile retailer Phones 4u will be running a competition over Facebook for three students to win £4,950 each, matching the average student maintenance loan for their first year.
The competition comes in the form of a Facebook App, which asks entrants to fill in a mock Loan Application along with photos and videos of you looking poor and living off Pot Noodles or other student-like activities. In addition to the three main prizes, students will also have the chance to win a 3 grand bar tab at your Students’ Union. Wow. (Health and Safety Note: The idea is to use that tab for a large party, not just personal use.)
Entries are open until 22nd October 2010. The Facebook Application can be found at http://www.facebook.com/Phones4u
Russell Braterman, Marketing Director at Phones 4u commented: “We are running the competition in recognition of the enormous financial pressures and debts faced by students today, and therefore want to do our part to help by offering a lucky few an opportunity to keep that debt down.”
