Wrexham To Join CLIC
Wrexham Youth Service have teamed up with CLIC to redevelop Young Wrexham, the information site for young people in the area.
The new look site will be launched over the summer period and will feature all of the CLIC features including an online magazine for young people as well as news, events and information, young people will be able to upload content and it will be overseen by a Youth Editorial Group.
Geoff Moore, the Counties Partnership Officer, said, “Young Wrexham is great, but come the summer it will get even better. This is an exciting partnership with local young people, CLIC and the Youth Service working together”
In the picture are Lisa Mathews, Lowri Kendrick and Kath Pollitt from Wrexham Youth Information Shop who have recently undertaken a week-long survey with young people to choose the look of the Young Wrexham logo, consulting with over 200 young people online, in youth clubs and in schools.
Lisa said, “This is an exciting opportunity for Young Wrexham to become more interactive and for young people to have better ownership of the site so they can upload their own stories, blogs, art work, reviews and films.”
Young Wrexham’s editorial group meet weekly and we welcome any young person who wants to get involved.
Young Wrexham will be the tenth Live Local CLIC site with five more local authorities with sites under development.
For more information please contact Wrexham Information Shop on 01978 358900 or through www.youngwrexham.co.uk.
Oh, and watch this space for the winner of £30 worth of iTunes vouchers randomly chosen from the 200 who voted on the logo.

While redeveloping it, could they maybe redevelop the name? Geoff is more than aware of my concerns on this matter =P

Young Wrexham is a well established brand in the area, the people in Wrexham are happy with it, I share your concerns but they know their business and are confident in their product. All I know is that at CLIC we will work with them to make their site the best it can be, they have a great group of talented young people and commited staff, we can expect great things from them. I'm glad to have them as part of the CLIC collective!
