Attention all you J.K. Rowlings in the making!

As part of its 2013 celebration of books and reading, World Book Day and self-publishing site, Movellas.com, have teamed up to produce an exclusive free app packed full of new short stories by top Young Adult (YA) authors.

But for the very first time, you have been given the chance to join them.

That’s right, if you’re aged 18 years or under you could see your work up there with Dawn O’Porter’s, Patrick Ness’, Sarah Alderson’s and many more, as every week Movellas.com is giving aspiring writers the chance to submit and vote for their favourite stories. The very best will then be selected for publication on the free World Book Day YA app, launching on Monday 25th February 2013.

So if you see yourself as the next big thing in the world of books register on Movellas.com to upload your story and be considered for publication.

And every week from January to March 2013 you can also place your vote for your favourite here.

And what does TV star, journalist, author and World Book Day YA app contributor Dawn O’Porter have to say about it?

“I can’t wait to read some of the competition entries from our country’s next generation of talented writers, and will be proud to see my World Book Day story sitting alongside the cream of the crop. I hope young people will be inspired by the new app to continue dreaming up exciting ideas and characters, and developing their own unique voice.”

So whether you want to make your publishing debut, or simply want to read some great short stories and vote on your favourites, get involved in this worldwide celebration of books marked in over 100 countries around the globe.

Best of luck!
