Ynys Frenhinol / A Royal Island
Mae’r Tywysog William yn aros ar Ynys Môn tan ddiwedd yr Haf wrth iddo gymryd rhan mewn cwrs hyfforddiant ar yr ynys.
Cyrhaeddodd y Tywysog, Awyr-lifftenant Cymru, ar ddiwedd mis Ionawr i gychwyn y Cwrs Chwilio ac Achub yn Llu Awyr Brenhinol y Fali (RAF). Nid yw’r Fali yn ddieithr i’r Tywysog gan iddo dreulio pythefnos yno yn 2005 ar gyfnod o brofiad gwaith.
Cwblhaodd y Tywysog 12 mis ar gwrs uwch hedfan hofrennydd yn y RAF yn Shawbury a’r cwrs presennol ydy’r cam nesaf iddo ddod yn beilot gweithredol llawn gyda’r Llu Achub a Chwilio RAF.
Bydd y Tywysog yn treulio hyd at 6 wythnos ar yr Uned Hyfforddiant Chwilio ac Achub yn parhau ei hyfforddiant ar yr hofrennydd Griffin. Bydd yn cwblhau ei hyfforddiant ar yr Uned ‘Sea King Operational Conversion Unit’, lle bydd yn dysgu ar gymysgedd o efelychwyr (simulators) a hofrennydd Sea King y RAF. Yn ystod yr haf bydd cyfres o ymarferion wedi’i gynllunio i brofi ei amrediad sgiliau llawn.
Os bydd yn llwyddiannus bydd y Tywysog yn dod yn beilot Chwilio ac Achub gweithredol llawn gydag un o’r 6 Lluoedd Chwilio ac Achub y RAF ym Mhrydain. Mae taith arferol i beilot yn gyfnod o 30 i 36 mis.

Prince William will be staying on Anglesey until the end of Summer as he takes part in a training course on the island.
The Prince, Flight Lieutenant Wales, arrived at the end of January to start the Search and Rescue Conversion Course at RAF Valley. The Prince is no stranger to the Valley as he spent two weeks work experience there in 2005.
The Prince completed a 12 month advance helicopter flying course at the RAF in Shawbury before coming to Anglesey and the latest course is the next step in him becoming a fully operational pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force.
He will spend up to 6 weeks on the Search and Rescue Training Unit continuing his training in the Griffin helicopter. He will complete his training on the Sea King Operational Conversion Unit, where he will train on a mixture of simulators and RAF Sea King helicopters. During the summer there will be a series of exercises designed to test the full range of his skills.
If he’s successful The Prince will become a fully operational Search and Rescue pilot with one of the 6 UK RAF Search and Rescue Forces. A typical tour for a pilot is 30 to 36 months.
