Yn Gymraeg

In 1989 the United Nations set out a rule that all children under the age of 18 have their human rights protected. They called it the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Wales is one of the only places in Europe and the first place in the UK to make this rule into law and a part of all policy decisions.

Today the Welsh Government is developing what they call The Children’s Scheme. So how does this affect me you ask? Well the Welsh Government wants you as young people to get involved!

The scheme is a programme that looks at all children and young people in Wales having full human rights as set out by the United Nations in 1989. The Children's Scheme asks you the young people of Wales to look at the Government and see if they are doing their job properly. The government wants to know things such as what needs to be in the scheme? Who needs to be involved? And how are they to be involved?

You can learn more about this here and here.
